Message from our founder
A message from our founder, Jake Douglass
You don’t have to convince someone to learn if they’re interested in the topic.
You don’t have to convince them to learn if you teach it in a way that makes sense to them.
I created ClimbHigh AI around a simple belief: there is no single best way to teach, because there is no single way that people learn.
We’ve all had the experience of struggling to understand something until the right person explained it in a way that finally clicked. The knowledge didn’t change. The person teaching it did.
That’s the idea behind ClimbHigh AI.
Before ClimbHigh AI, I founded Practicing Musician, a music-education platform used by educators in 831 school districts and in 90+ countries, free for K–12 programs. During the pandemic, I led a crowdsourced project in which 150+ volunteer contributors created 7,500+ resources for music educators. My co-founder has spent decades building volunteer-run learning communities, including a nonprofit that has served more than 100,000 people across six continents.
We’re building a learning platform where creators, educators and experts can bring their own voice, experience and perspective to a shared learning framework. Multiple people can teach the same concept in completely different ways, and over time, ClimbHigh AI will be able to learn which approaches help different learners succeed.
AI plays an important role, but we believe the future of learning should remain deeply human. Technology should make it easier for people with knowledge to share what they know, not replace the experience, creativity and perspective they bring to teaching.

Our goal is bigger than helping people create educational content faster. We want to build a place where more people can teach, more people can find the way they learn best, and human expertise matters more, not less, in an AI-powered world.
